About Us

I CAN South Sudan is a Multi Sector NGO devoted to advancing the well-being of displaced persons with special focus on vulnerable children and women. I CAN South Sudan was founded in 2017 by Refugee Youth in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, Yumbe District in Uganda. The Organization was Incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee with Uganda Registration Service Bureau (URSB) in 2018, Registered and have MoU with Yumbe District and Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) Refugee Desk. In 2019, the Organization extended its services to South Sudan where it is Registered as a National Non Governmental Organization with Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) in Juba South Sudan

Our Community and Beneficiaries

In Uganda we work with unaccompanied Refugee Children, Children with special needs and orphans who fled conflicts in South Sudan in 2016 and specific in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement. We equally engage vulnerable children from the host community In South Sudan our beneficiaries are Internal Displaced Child fleeing internal conflicts in South Sudan and natural disaster, Orphans and Returnee Children returning from the countries they fled to

Other Operating Locations

We have expanded our work from Refugee Settlement in Uganda to South Sudan and our Coordination office is in Juba in Central Equatoria State and Yambio, Ibba and Ezo in Western Equatoria State In our ongoing project funded by CoHERE, We have identified 300 disabled Children and are now assessing their conditions to enroll them in several services such as giving them assistive devices based on their different situation, enroll them in school and in home learning program. We have trained teachers and parents on how to help the children in school and at home. We have conducted awareness in the community on the disabled children to reduce the stigma they face in the community
