Collective of Youth Organizations for Solidarity in DRCongo COJESKI
40 IDPS and Refugee women and girls now involved in agriculture in Kalemie City, Tanganyika Province -DRCongo
As part of our Climate Change Resilience for the most affected and vulnerable communities, we received a grant from COHERE to support IDPs and Refugees in order to survive and resist the consequences of Climate Change, this is also part of our approach to promote local solutions through livelihood activities to refugees and IDPs in DRC.
The project started early this month, and the very first difficult work was done men in order to prepare the land while women will do the rest. This will help them to produce their own food and generate some money from the produce they will sell to the local markets.
Our next steps
To provide for them the effective means of transport during the period of harvest,
To organize them in Agriculture Cooperatives,
To build for them a store in the city where they will sell their produce from,
