GEESI Development and Humanitarian Initiative

GEESI DHI carried out a door-to-door sensitization campaign in Adagom 1 Refugee Camp focused on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), child protection, and preventive health awareness. Community members were educated on the causes and effects of GBV, reporting mechanisms, and the importance of creating safe environments for women and children. Parents were also engaged on child protection issues, including stranger awareness, child safety, and the role of the Emergency Response Unit in handling urgent protection concerns. In addition, awareness was raised on preventive health measures against viruses spread by rats and other emerging diseases, emphasizing hygiene, sanitation, and early reporting of symptoms to health authorities.
