Umoja Refugee Creative, regardless the struggles to access quality funding, has become a becon of hope to many through its hands on training and creatives. While we focus on three main programs: Livelihood, Mental helath and Advocacy; from last year(2024), we equally emphasized our work on Child Protection by introducing a Child Friendly Space - CFS which has come as an ice breaker for many refugee women and host who now have a safe place to leave their children while in a vocational training or at work and this means a lot as we empower women at over 80% of our holistic programs. Our work focus on skills development under livelihood which entails of training on various practical skills which transit into immediate job creation after graduation, and employment. As an initiative we focus on a four levels approach for the sustainability of the beneficiaries while the training goes on and beyond: we Train, we Mentor, we Equip, and we Sustain. We believe in the possibilities of refugee communities to excel in the host community through integrated programs, while restoring hope and dignity of displaced populations.
