United Safe Environment Creators (USEC)

We had the opportunity to participate in a powerful global convening on family reunification in Nairobi, bringing together RLOs, protection actors, legal practitioners, advocates, and partners committed to advancing safe and dignified pathways for displaced families.

The discussions strongly resonated with our community-led protection work at USEC, particularly the importance of access to accurate information, early support, and safer referral pathways for families experiencing separation along displacement routes.

One message stood out clearly: family reunification is more than a legal process. It is about protection, dignity, belonging, healing, and hope.

The convening further strengthened our commitment to community-based approaches that place affected individuals and refugee communities at the center of protection responses and reunification efforts.

We are grateful to the Global Family Reunification Network (FRUN), RefugePoint, and all partners who made the convening possible.
