Today, under the Bright Beginning Project, we conducted a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) engagement session with parents and caregivers in Kakuma to strengthen awareness on children’s emotional wellbeing, positive parenting, and supportive learning environments.

The discussion focused on the important role parents play in children’s confidence, behavior, emotional growth, and academic progress. In displacement settings, many children face stress and learning challenges, making family support especially important.

Through interactive discussions, parents reflected on practical ways of supporting children emotionally at home and creating safe environments that help them learn and grow positively.

We appreciate all parents and community members who participated and contributed to the discussion.
