Reflecting on Our Recent Milestones in Supporting Children with Disabilities. 3 Stars Rehabilitation Initiatives , In collaboration with the Early Childhood Development project funded by Comic Relief, we recently conducted Pre-Progress Assessments for children with disabilities across Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement, and Kampala. This vital work took place from September to October 2024 and was led by rehabilitation specialists from 3 Stars Rehabilitation Initiatives. Thanks to the additional support from Ican South Sudan, Bondeko, and Tomorrow Vijana—who provided essential mobilization and translation services—we could connect deeply with caregivers and communities. Our Goal: To identify and address barriers hindering children’s learning and physical development. Objectives: • Reassess children's learning and physical abilities to pinpoint specific needs. • Offer tailored interventions to enhance body function and learning progress. • Strengthen caregivers' capacity to support the development of children with disabilities. Through these assessments, we're making strides toward a brighter, more inclusive future, empowering children and their caregivers with the resources they need to thrive.
