Root of Generations
We began training 150 Sudanese, Ethiopian, and Burundian women in Gorom on December 2, 2024, and concluded on January 4, 2025. Following the training, we distributed cash to these women, who were divided into 15 groups of ten members each. All participants successfully completed the program. We are making progress in supporting refugee women in Gorom Refugee Camp thanks to Cohere's generous emergency pool funds! After a month of basic entrepreneurship training and trauma and counseling sessions, 150 Sudanese, Ethiopian, and Burundian women received funds to start their own small businesses. This vital support lays the foundation for self-reliance. The need is great—over 350 women have expressed interest in trauma healing sessions. We are committed to expanding our reach and addressing the gap in trauma and livelihood support, especially as these areas have been deprioritized. We are grateful for Cohere's partnership and continue to seek support to help more women rebuild their lives. Our next step is to continue monitoring their progress until March. However, there is still a need for more resources, given the high level of vulnerability among these displaced women in the refugee camp. Join us in supporting these resilient women! Your contribution can help us provide essential resources and expand our programs to reach more women in need. Donate today to empower refugee women and help them rebuild their lives
