Root of Generations

Today's visit to Gorom Refugee Camp showcased the profound impact of Cohere's emergency pooled funds, channeled through Root of Generations. We met Taiba Omar Mustafa, a Sudanese refugee and mother of eight, whose family, including a child with epilepsy and a husband with cerebral palsy, faced severe hardship after food voucher cuts. Cohere's timely intervention provided crucial financial assistance, empowering Taiba and 167 other beneficiaries to rebuild their lives. With a small grant, Taiba, like many resilient Sudanese women, has transformed her daily $10 (50,000 SSP) into a lifeline. She now sells small goods and cultivates a kitchen garden of carrots and Sweet potatoes. Now she can provide healthier food for her children and afford essential private healthcare. Taiba's story is a testament to the power of small grants to create significant change, restoring dignity and hope in the face of adversity.
