Due to lack of Funding there is 4 ECD centre that has been left not operating, in the refugee settlement of Imvepi Refugee camp, as a refugee led organisation, we feel ownership of the centres. together with the refugee leaders, caregivers, government and the entire refugee community. we develop a community funding project, where by we mobilise the community to support the Centres with cash contribution, human resource, and play materials. today we have conducted feedback meeting with the Refugee welfare councils RWCs to find out some impressing challenges affecting the ECD centres in the settlement, the challenges we identified are limited play materials, teaching materials and cleaning tools, the school management committees are lacking knowledge and skills of how they can run some programmes, fundraising and Advocacy programmes at the centres. hence requesting for capacity building. there is need of raising awareness and sensitisation on Early learning and importance of sending children 3-8 years early to school. AS a refugee led organisation we are requesting for more support to this programme to enable the refugee children access better education and play programmes at the settlement.
