YIDA Youth Initiative

For years, the world has told young people they are "the future" something to wait for, invest in, prepare for someday. At YIDA Youth Initiative, we believe differently. We believe the future is now.

On 30th July, that belief will take physical form in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement, as over 100 young refugees graduate from our Mushroom Growing & Mindset Change program, a milestone under our Institutional Strengthening Project, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation.

These are not just graduates. They are young people who, months ago, sat through training sessions determined to build something of their own and today, they walk out with skills, certification, and with a mindset shift that no circumstance can take away from them.

This is what it looks like to address youth unemployment head-on — not with promises for tomorrow, but with opportunity today.
