About

Action Empowerment for Refugees (AER) is a Community-Based Organization (CBO) established in 2024 to support refugees and host community members by addressing unemployment, limited access to education, poverty, and food insecurity. The organization focuses on empowering vulnerable populations with practical skills, quality education, and sustainable livelihood opportunities that promote dignity, resilience, and long-term self-reliance.AER operates across four key program areas: welding, tailoring, education, and agriculture. Through vocational training in welding and tailoring, the organization equips youth and adults with hands-on, marketable skills that enable them to secure employment or start small income-generating businesses. These skills are designed to meet local market demands, ensuring beneficiaries can improve their household incomes and economic stability. In the education sector, AER supports primary-level and kindergarten education, aiming to provide children from refugee and host communities with access to safe, inclusive, and quality learning environments. The organization emphasizes early childhood development and foundational education, recognizing that strong early learning is essential for lifelong success. By improving access to education, AER helps reduce school dropout rates and builds a foundation for future opportunities.AER also promotes agriculture and food security by encouraging sustainable farming practices. The organization supports small-scale farming initiatives that improve food production, nutrition, and household resilience. Through agricultural training and support, beneficiaries are empowered to grow food for consumption and surplus for income, reducing dependency and strengthening community food systems.MISSION The mission of Action Empowerment for Refugees is to empower refugees and host communities through skills development, education, and sustainable agriculture, enabling them to achieve self-reliance, improved livelihoods, and a better quality of life.GOALS To equip youth and adults with practical vocational skills in welding and tailoring for employment and self-employment.To provide access to quality primary and kindergarten education for children from vulnerable communities. To enhance food security and nutrition through sustainable agricultural practices. To reduce poverty and dependency by promoting self-reliance and economic empowerment.Through integrated and community-driven approaches, Action Empowerment for Refugees works to create lasting, positive change for vulnerable populations, fostering empowered individuals and resilient communities.
