AFRICA CARE ORGANIZATION
ACARE Association is a humanitarian organization that works to improve the lives of girls and orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC) in Turkana County, Kenya. Founded in 2017 and registered under the Society’s Act (108), ACARE is driven by the vision of a dignified and self-reliant society where girls, young women and OVC can thrive and achieve their full potential. ACARE understands the complex and multifaceted challenges that these groups face in Turkana, such as extreme poverty, harsh climate, insecurity,and marginalization. ACARE also recognizes the untapped potential and resilience of these groups andseeks to empower them through various interventions.ACARE recognizes that access to education is the key to achieving fundamental change in the lives of the girls and the vulnerable children (OVC) in the Turkana community. Providing holistic, inclusive, and long-lasting investment in the girls and the OVC is a core pillar of the ACARE foundation. Through education, the ACARE girls, young women and OVC become empowered and educated and hence begin to realize their dreams of breaking the cycle of poverty.We have so far impacted thousands of young women and girlssince 2017 and issued them with certificates from each program department.
