Beacon of Light is a women led, youth driven, and refugee inclusive Community-Based Organization founded by Firdaus Ahmed, who serves as the Executive Director and vision bearer of the organization. It was established to empower vulnerable youth and women from both refugee and host communities through inclusive, sustainable, and community-driven interventions.The organization was founded in response to the pressing challenges faced by marginalized communities, including limited access to opportunities, gender based violence (GBV), mental health struggles, and social exclusion. Beacon of Light creates safe and empowering spaces where individuals can heal, grow, and build resilience while restoring dignity and promoting self-reliance.Beacon of Light implements programs across key thematic areas. In peacebuilding and conflict transformation, the organization equips youth and community members with skills in dialogue, mediation, and social cohesion to foster peaceful coexistence. In mental health and psychosocial support, the organization runs its initiative Mind Bloom, which provides safe spaces for emotional healing, self-awareness, and resilience building among youth and women.The organization also focuses on economic empowerment through vocational training, entrepreneurship development, and financial literacy, enabling participants to build sustainable livelihoods. Additionally, Beacon of Light actively engages in advocacy and human rights awareness, particularly in refugee rights, gender equality, and community inclusion, bridging the gap between refugee and host communities.Since its establishment, Beacon of Light has reached and supported over 100 beneficiaries through training, mentorship, and research engagement. The organization has built strong partnerships with institutions such as IdeaSinc, Khweva Masterclass, Samuel Hall, Shofco and American Corner, expanding access to opportunities and strengthening its impact at the community level.Beacon of Light operates on the principles of integrity, accountability, inclusion, and collaboration, supported by a structured leadership and governance framework that ensures transparency and effectiveness.The organization envisions a community where every young person and woman lives with dignity, has access to opportunities, and is empowered to lead change.
