ORGANISATION BACKGROUND
COMFORT THE COMMUNITY: is a community-based organization (CBO) in Dzaleka Refugee Camp. We look after children living with disabilities, girls vulnerable to early childhood marriages and orphans in Dzaleka refugee camp and surrounding areas.
Under Comfort the Community, there is nursery school, primary school, and secondary school for refugees and host community numbers, and our target audience includes children with disabilities, orphans, and girls vulnerable to early childhood marriages. The number of direct beneficiaries is 600 while the indirect beneficiaries is 2400 representing 600 households.
Mission Statement
To promote socio-economic empowerment through strategic interventions and sustainable development programs to reverse/reduce/stop the effects of traumatism and poverty among communities.
To educate, empower, and care for disadvantaged and poverty-stricken communities, and to carry out capacity building in requisite life skills, such as education and professional training (farming, tailoring, baking, carpentry, etc…) for improving the economic standards of those living on the continent of Africa.
Our Vision:
To have a prosperous society, self-reliant and sustainable communities in Malawi, which are empowered with the equal opportunities to development, to implement and manage community development projects for sustainable livelihood and self-sufficiency.
