Community Organization for Peer Educators (COPE) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization in South Sudan. COPE works to reduce ignorance and illiteracy among refugees and the host community. COPE is optimizing Educational, Health Projects and Sustainable Agriculture and Livelihood for the refugees and host community to save lives both in short and term targets. COPE sustains agricultural programs to ensure that refugees and the host community in South Sudan learn skills and knowledge on how to produce food for cash and consumptions by themselves. Livelihood involves rearing livestock that include by not limited to keeping chickens, goats and pigs. The live stock earns the refugees with funds to fulfill their basic needs and pay for their families medical and educational bills effectively. Secondary, COPE is concerned with literacy of children, women and men among the refugees and the host communities. COPE is influencing parents and teachers to come and as a team to sustain schools in the refugees camp and in the host community. Education is a key to life skills that helps individuals to adopt lifestyles that makes difference. According the the Sustainable Development Goal Number four (4) all people at all ages deserve quality education. Quality Education is expected to be acquired by all. COPE is currently undertaking health project concerned with HIV/AIDS life saving. COPE believe that providing medication to host community and refugees will save lives and makes them stronger to undertake their sustainable project activities that will increase development in the homes and community. COPE uphold the rights of all through advocacy COPE believe in the eight (8) good governance principles that can make effective leadership and citizenry development. Accountable leaders:Public officials must be answerable for government decisions and be responsive for the effects of their actions. Transparent leaders: Display information to the general public for clarity on government decisions. Transparency can help prevent corruption.Responsive leaders: ensure that institutions and processes should serve all stakeholders within a reasonable timeframe.Effectiveness and Efficiency of service delivery: Processes and institutions need to produce results that meet the needs of society, while making the best use of resources to achieve the desired target. Equitable and Inclusive leadership: People should not feel excluded from the mainstream of society and everyone should have opportunities to improve their well-being. Rule of Law in the leadership: There should be fair legal frameworks that are enforced impartially, fully protecting human rights and rights of minorities.Participatory leadership: This requires citizens, both men and women, to be involved in the development process. People need to participate so that the government can make informed choices.Consensus-oriented: Different interests and viewpoints need to be mediated to reach a broad consensus on what is in the best interest of the whole community.In Conclusion, COPE uphold refugees' and host community credibility and life saving through: Quality Educational Services, Sustainable Agriculture and Livelihood, quality health care and Advocacy for elements of good governance for refugees and hots community.
