Elohim Development Foundation (EDF) is a non-profit, non-political, and non-governmental organization established in 2006 in Benue State, Nigeria (CAC/IT/No 41894). With over two decades of development experience, EDF advances human rights, promotes peace, and drives sustainable development, particularly for women, youth, and children. The organization is recognized for its expertise in peacebuilding, Early Warning and Early Response (EWER), gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS).EDF adopts a community-driven approach that combines advocacy, partnerships, capacity building, and direct support to empower vulnerable populations and foster long-term resilience.VisionTo create a society where all vulnerable groups live with dignity, equity, and opportunitiesMissionTo provide targeted interventions and resources to vulnerable groups through advocacy, partnerships, education, capacity building, and direct support.Core ValuesTeamwork: Collaboration drives our impact.Integrity: We uphold honesty, transparency, and accountability.Equity: We promote equal opportunities for all.Transparency & Accountability: We remain responsible to communities and partners.Core ObjectivesEDF advocates for the rights of women and youth, promotes education and empowerment initiatives, strengthens peacebuilding and intergroup relations, advances civic education and reproductive health rights, builds strategic partnerships to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and expands access to livelihoods and financial inclusion.What We Do / ImpactEDF has implemented wide-ranging interventions that combine humanitarian response with long-term development:Led peacebuilding initiatives such as the Protecting Our Communities Initiative (POCI) and the ongoing Empowering Community Security (ECOS) Project, strengthening community-based security systems.Delivered trauma healing, mental health awareness, and psychosocial support services for conflict-affected populations and GBV survivors.Provided free counseling and referral services to over 10,000 young people and facilitated youth engagement platforms like Frank Talk, impacting over 3,000 youths.Supported internally displaced persons (IDPs) through camp management, needs assessments, and humanitarian assistance.Implemented school outreaches, reproductive health campaigns, and menstrual hygiene initiatives to promote healthy behaviors and education.Delivered skill acquisition programs and livelihood support to enhance economic empowerment.Thematic Areas of FocusHealth: Reproductive health, MHPSS, and menstrual hygiene.Education: Access to quality education for children and youth.Peace & Security: Conflict resolution, EWER systems, and social cohesion.E-WASH: Water, sanitation, and hygiene promotion.Agriculture: Sustainable livelihoods and food security.
