Generation Humanitaire
Generation Humanitaire is a locally led organisation working with refugees in Burundi. There are over 100,000 refugees in Burundi from neighbouring countries such as Rwanda with the largest population being from the Democratic Republic of Congo. The international aid sector has been affected by aid cuts and so it is important that local organisations like ours step in to support refugees to start a new beginning in our country. Generation Humanitaire was founded by Oscar Birenguse in January 2024. Generation Humanitaire works in the refugee camps in Burundi, supporting local leaders and the most vulnerable. We work in Musenyi, which was recently expanded, as well as Kavumu and Bwagiriza.
