About

Go UseTech is a refugee-led, community-based non-profit organization established in 2023 in Uganda to empower refugees and host communities through digital skills development, vocational training, entrepreneurship support, and access to market opportunities. The organization was founded by refugees who experienced firsthand the challenges of unemployment, limited access to education and technology, and restricted economic opportunities within displacement settings. Go UseTech was created to provide practical, community-driven solutions that promote self-reliance, resilience, and social inclusion. The organization focuses on supporting vulnerable populations, particularly youth, women, and persons with disabilities, by equipping them with relevant and market-driven skills. Go UseTech’s core program areas include ICT and computer skills training, digital marketing, entrepreneurship development, and vocational skills training such as book making and shoe making. The organization also supports small businesses and youth-led enterprises through an e-commerce platform that connects beneficiaries to wider markets and employment opportunities.Go UseTech operates primarily in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, Hoima City, and surrounding host communities in Uganda. The organization applies a community-led development approach, ensuring that beneficiaries actively participate in identifying priorities, designing solutions, and implementing programs. This participatory model strengthens community ownership, relevance, and sustainability of interventions.Through hands-on training, mentorship, and peer learning, Go UseTech has supported youth and women to gain employable skills, start small businesses, and improve household incomes. The organization promotes inclusive participation by creating safe and accessible learning environments and prioritizing marginalized groups who often face social and economic barriers.Go UseTech collaborates with local and international partners, civil society organizations, and community leaders to strengthen program quality and expand impact. The organization has participated in capacity-building initiatives and partnership programs that have strengthened its leadership, project implementation, and community engagement approaches.By promoting digital inclusion, entrepreneurship, and vocational skills development, Go UseTech contributes to sustainable livelihoods and long-term self-reliance among displaced and vulnerable communities. The organization remains committed to strengthening community leadership, promoting gender equality, and supporting innovative, locally driven solutions that respond to the complex realities of refugee and host communities.
