HOLISTIC FOCUS FOR THE MARGINALIZED
Holistic Focus for Marginalized was founded in 2014 and registered in 2017, by the Malawi Government, as a community-based organization and a member of the Council for Non-Governmental Organizations (CONGOMA). It was founded by Pastor Desire Farini and Kalenga Lubembele Tracy after realizing that their community had many marginalized people, both refugees and Malawians, and the support they were receiving was not enough. Additionally, the available support only targeted the visible part of the problem and not the root cause. Thus, the founders sought to adopt a holistic approach to providing support, to help this population meet their Spiritual, Mental, and Physical needs. Holistic Focus for Marginalized aims at bringing durable solutions to challenges that the refugee and host communities face in order to empower them for a self-reliant and productive lifestyle.
We are a non-political, non-governmental, and charity organization. We serve our beneficiaries regardless of gender, racial and religious differences.
The direct beneficiaries of our activities are mainly children and youths of school-going-age, single mothers, widows and other underprivileged people in the Dzaleka Refugee Camp and the surrounding communities
Vision:
Our vision is to empower marginalized people, both refugees and Malawians, for a proactive and self-reliant lifestyle so that they become the principal agents of a holistic transformation of their lives.
Mission
Our mission is to accompany both refugee and host marginalized communities in developing and achieving their future dreams.
