About
Kampala Parents of Children with Disabilities Association Makindye
KAPCDAM is a Ugandan non-profit organization, established in 2013 by parents of children with disabilities. It advocates for the rights and well-being of children with disabilities (CWDs) and their families. The organization works with over 496 families across Kampala, Wakiso, and Mukono districts, focusing on those with physical, visual, hearing, mental, and learning disabilities.
Our Vision:
We envision a society where CWDs and their parents are fully included, living quality lives, and enjoying their rights.
Our Mission:
KAPCDAM empowers parents of CWDs to maximize their potential and improve their families' standards of living. We achieve this through:
• Inclusive healthcare and education: We advocate for inclusive
policies and ensure access to quality health services and
education for CWDs.
• Financial inclusion: We help families improve their household
income through income generation activities and financial skilling
programs.
• Policy advocacy: We work to influence government and
community responses to the needs of CWDs.
Our Approach:
We prioritize a person-centered approach, valuing parents and CWDs as experts. Collaboration and transparency are key, fostering mutual support and accountability.
Our Impact:
KAPCDAM strives to improve the social-economic well-being of CWDs.
Our programs target:
• Increased access to quality healthcare services.
• Improved educational opportunities and vocational skills training
for CWDs.
• Enhanced household incomes for CWDs' families.
Why Support KAPCDAM?
Your support directly impacts CWDs' futures. It allows us to:

Wakiso, and Mukono. This means more children will have access to
essential services like healthcare, education, and vocational
training.
• Invest in infrastructure: Build a permanent center for programs
and income generation.

children thrive.
