In response to the urgent needs uncovered during our recent visit to the Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement, Muungano Youth Development Skills has been taking action to make a real difference. Many families were living without stable shelter, and children were unable to attend school due to financial struggles. To help, we’ve built a new home for a family in need of safe shelter. This isn’t just about providing a roof—it’s about giving hope and a fresh start. We are beyond grateful to the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) for granting us a plot of land to call our own and to @tomorrowvijana (Tomorrow Vijana) for donating iron sheets. Thanks to your incredible support, we're making strides in building our office and three classrooms dedicated to Early Childhood Development (ECD), tailoring, and hairdressing! Next year, we hope to move into our new space and leave behind the rental property that has served us so well. This milestone will allow us to provide even better services to our community. These hardships are compounded as some families have been dropped from monthly food rations, leaving parents unable to meet basic needs, from safe housing to education for their children. In response, Muungano Youth Development Skills is stepping up with immediate action. We’re organizing a clothing drive to support families in need and are actively reaching out to partner organizations to provide more substantial help—especially for safe shelter and educational support. A Harvest of Health for Our Community’s Children ???? In a successful Spinach Harvest led by our dedicated VSLA agriculture group, we cultivated and gathered fresh, nutritious spinach to support the well-being of our young learners. This bounty was generously distributed to Elshadai Junior Parents’ School through our partners at the Elinde Foundation CBO, located in Mahani A. By providing these vegetables, we’re ensuring that children at the school receive essential nutrients to support their growth, health, and learning.
