About PICKNET

PICKNET stands for Poverty,Injustice Consultancy and Kids Network; It is a Refugee Led-Organisation whose their objectives of empowering refugee youth and women and Host communities through through Vocational Skills. We have also a vision of recovering social and economic potentials of Refugee communities for a sustainable development and its mission of empowering and advocating resources to enable positive social and economic transformation among refugees and Host communities. At PICKNET, we base on Vocational training skills where we train Tailoring and garment cutting, Hair dressing and cosmetology and hair shaving/cutting and Creative Industry including Videography and Photography, hand craft art including bead making, weaving different items. We also focus on Climate Action and Environmental Sustainability. PICKNET is basing on Livelihood and Environmental development and Climate Sustainability. We believe that education both formal and informal and livelihood are the key to eraducate cycle of poverty and injustice. Slogan: Sustainable Youth, Sustainable Future. PICKNET is presenting"YP-CARE" initiative to the committee of TUUNGANE group from Ntenungi C- Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement, strengthening community partneship for environmental dustsinability.

"YP-CARE"( Youth-led Plastic Recycling for Climate Action and Circular Economy)

It is a flagship PICKNET initiative that empower refugee and host-community youth and women to transform waste into valuable, marketable products. Through hands-on recycling skills, climate smart-innovation and green entrepreneurship training, YP-CARE reduce environmental pollution, strengthens climate resilience, and opens livelihood sustainable opportunities for vulnerable young people.

This initiative builds a local circular economy where waste becomes wealth, and youth become climate champions.

As at 24th November, 2025, there were a training about GBV held on UNHCR Boardroom.

At PICKNET, preventing Gender-Based Violence is a core part of our all programs.

We work with yiuth, women and single mothers to ensure they are safe, informed and empowered.

We train them to understand GBV, their right and where to seek help.
