Rediscovering Humanity & Health is a dually registered, refugee-led, non – governmental organization established by a group of Refugee and Returnee Youth (DAFI Scholars & Alumni) in South Sudan in June, 2023, out of several years of experience in voluntary community outreach activities. It seeks to awaken the consciousness of the communities to their true potentials and restore the sense of Humanity that seem to have been distorted by the prolonged experiences of living in wars and conflicts with its devastating sublime effects on their overall physical and psychological life.We intend to unwind the subtle and untold psychological damage of long years of living in wars and aggressive environment, and the effects of deprivation of basic human necessities for decades. For this reason, we feel obliged to respond to this multi – facet needs, through the natives in order to identify with our communities and relate with them in their local languages. This resonates with interventions aimed at serving the humanity and alleviating their sufferings.In essence, we discovered people need empathy & sympathy, empowerment and exposure to life transforming skills and pathways in order to uplift and make them to self-reliance.Therefore, we aspire to improve the living conditions of the forcibly displaced refugee masses and the poor host communities through initiatives that enrich their capacities and empower their potentials.In addition, we envision building a future based on their aspirations, and act to restore their sense and worth of humanity. Above all, we feel obliged to stay in touch with the communities in all occasions, engage with them in activities and allow them shape their need based solutions.
