The organization is a children youth focused Refugee Led humanitarian organization, legally registered by the government of Uganda in Terego District local government2025. It started since 2019 as a parenting group with more focus on parenting and caregiving to ensure that good parenting ways are practiced by the parents since parenting is holistic service. This is because, many children came without their biological parents to the Refugee camp and they were staying with non biological parents. Not only that some parents lucks good parenting models due to trauma and being a single parent. Therefore, the organization is to create a safe space where children and youth heal and thrive. Uwezo is kiswahili word mean ability. Meaning that it focuses on unlocking every child's potentials through nurturing care. To enable them develope well and to be creative, and innovative in their lives in the future and the future Starts now.
