Root of Generations
Root of Generations was founded in 2010 and officially registered in 2016 with Relief and Rehabilitation Commission RRC, in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management. (ROG) is a South Sudanese women-led NGO working to empower communities. Partnering with national and international youth organizations, ROG tackles various challenges. It promotes peace building, food security, livelihood opportunities, access to clean water and sanitation (WASH), education, trauma healing and psychosocial support, and facilitates networking and dialogue. By responding to specific needs, it advocates for an enabling environment in South Sudanese communities.
ROG champions gender equality. It believes women deserve equal respect and recognition beyond biological differences. The organization's vision is for society to see women as partners, friends, and companions alongside men, participating fully in all aspects of life.
Beyond good intentions, ROG prioritizes impact. It sees a critical gap in many South Sudanese NGOs where good intentions fail to translate into lasting results. ROG bridges this gap by ensuring initiatives have a measurable impact on the lives of target participants. The motto: addressing issues from the root for lasting solutions.
