Saidia Community Initiative (SCI) is a community-based organization dedicated to empowering individuals and transforming communities through education, advocacy, and sustainable development. Founded with the belief that every person deserves an equal opportunity to thrive, Saidia works to create inclusive spaces where youth, women, and marginalized groups can build resilience, exercise their rights, and actively contribute to positive social change.The organization’s mission is to promote community well-being through education, empowerment, and advocacy, focusing on areas that strengthen social, economic, and civic participation. Saidia’s approach is grounded in community engagement, participatory learning, and collaboration with local stakeholders, ensuring that every intervention responds directly to the needs and realities of the people it serves.Key Program AreasSexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR): Saidia promotes access to accurate information, services, and safe spaces for young people and women to make informed decisions about their reproductive health. The program focuses on comprehensive sexuality education, menstrual health, gender equality, and reproductive rights awareness. Through school and community outreach, Saidia empowers adolescents to challenge stigma, prevent early pregnancies, and advocate for their health rights.Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Prevention and Response: Recognizing the urgent need to address gender-based violence, Saidia works with survivors, local leaders, and service providers to strengthen community protection mechanisms. The program includes awareness campaigns, survivor support, and psychosocial counseling, as well as advocacy for stronger policies and justice for victims of violence.Peace Building and Sustainable Dialogue: Saidia facilitates dialogues and community forums that foster social cohesion, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among diverse groups. The program trains youth and women as peace ambassadors, promoting conflict resolution, restorative justice, and inclusive leadership in fragile or divided communities.Thread of Change Program: This innovative program combines art, storytelling, and creativity to promote personal and community transformation. Through creative workshops, theater, and visual storytelling, participants explore social issues, express their voices, and inspire change.Economic Empowerment and Skills Development: Saidia supports women and youth to build sustainable livelihoods through entrepreneurship training, financial literacy, and business innovation programs. Initiatives such as Mothers of Innovation in Business and Youth Enterprise Labs help participants access capital, develop business plans, and engage in cooperative ventures that promote self-reliance and community growth.Our Approach and ImpactSaidia Community Initiative believes in people-centered development.
