About Supernovas United Youth Association

The organization is called"Supernovas United Youth Association"abbreviated as hereinafter SUYA it is a nonprofit end apolitical association, with main aim to improve the livelihoods end socio-cultural development of vulnerable communities,end Youth community especially. Creation, location end duration. Founded in 2018, August the 2nd, it is located in base-camp1 Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement , end may transfer it's location elsewhere if the need is approved by two thirds. Vision and Mission:. To be the leading Youth end Refugee-led association in providing rehabilitation, artistic, socio-cultural end cohesive activities for employment, development end education. With a great commitment and engagement of members and community based volunteers, we have succeeded to provide services to more than 130 needy people with basic counseling through dance and other plays, home visits. Partnering with sister RLOs such as Oxfam and Alight, UNHCR, we have been champions in teaching preventive measures against COVID-19, through radio talk show and construction of tit tapes for the PSN (person with specific needs) and elderly and EVI (extremely vulnerable individuals). We also taken part in fighting SGBV through drama, radio talk show and community dialogue meetings. We have accompanied over 60 youths to access to catch up courses in vocational training centres and schools where some did mechanics, tailoring, restaurant, carpentry and have now started earning living from these. We have been organising dialogue meetings with local leadership and refugees to strengthen and improve their level leadership and train them on their rights.
