Vision for Child Development in Africa (VICDA), a refugee-led community-based organization dedicated to fostering the holistic development and well-being of refugee children and families in the African communities, specifically in kyaka II refugee settlement. With a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges faced refugee populations, VICDA is committed to creating a brighter future for children and families who have been displaced by conflict, persecution, and natural disasters. By providing critical support services and empowering communities, VICDA aims to promote the development and well-being of refugee children and families, enabling them to thrive and reach their full potential.Our Founding Story:VICDA was founded by a group of energetic refugee youth activists who share full-hearted passion and vision to restore the well-being of refugee children in African communities, specifically in kyaka II refugee settlement. With personal experiences and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by refugee communities, these visionary leaders came together to create an organization that would drive lasting impact and positive change.Our Mission: Our mission is to nurturing the holistic development and well-being of vulnerable refugee children, enabling them to grow, learn, and succeed. We thrive to create a supportive environment that enables children to reach their full potential and become active. Our Vision: We envision a future where every refugee child enjoys optimal development, well-being, and opportunities for success, reaching their full potential. VICDA’s vision is to create a world where refugee children and families can thrive, reach their full potential, and contribute to the development of their communities. We envision a future where refugee children have access quality education, healthcare, and are able to live in dignity and safety.Our journey: Since its establishment in 2023 and registration as community-based organization in 2024, VICDA has been driven by clear vision to make a meaningful difference in the lives of refugee children and families in kyaka II refugee settlement. Our focus areas are carefully aligned with global efforts to protect and support children’s well-being, reflecting our commitment to contributing to broader development goals.
