About YFTC Uganda

Youth Focus on Transforming Community is a refugee founded ICT centered, peace building, and advocacy youth led community-based organization, devoted to promote peace-building, Youth Empowerment, refugee entrepreneurship and advocacy. YFTC began as a community-based initiative with its Headquarters at Zone 4 Annex’s Bidibidi refugee settlement. The organization facilitates access to information to both refugee and host community while addressing grassroot concerns pertaining to conflicts within the communities and works towards creating an environment conducive for children, youth and women. We live to see a peaceful, healthy, resilient and violence free community, where everyone holds the power to drive and influence positive change in their society. The organization promotes activities tailored for ensuring that women and Youth are empowered through providing them with life skills training, fighting hate speech, promoting self- reliance & resilient, lessening inequality and enhancing developmental activities at the grassroots level through capacity building. YFTC has a substantial department of women & girls known as “Response to women concerns”. This department was created to accelerate women and girls’ empowerment and innovations in respond to concern that affect their lives. The response to women concerns department is responsible for the core organizational objective to build capacities of refugee women and promote self-resilience through community base protection, cultural heritage, Income Generating Activities, ICT, vocational skills trainings, agricultural activities, and micro-enterprises which majorly touches women.
