Refugees living in Kakuma refugee camp have difficulty not only of coping with the life, environment and climate but also the fact that they have come from different countries among others: South Sudan, Somali, Sudan, Uganda, Congo DRC, Burundi, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Eritrea etc. and were consequently subject of ideological, cultural, religious and others divergences sometimes incompatible. Imported from their origin countries, these facts have been among causes of conflicts between communities. In this optic, the cases of discrimination, division and wars between communities living in Kakuma refugee camp result from previous difficulties. The results of our researches and investigations from our different communities and socio-groups on the fields revealed us the necessity of initiating a Community Based Organization (CBO), a space whereby together without any discrimination, we can be sharing ideas in order to contribute for effective and durable union for the development of our society as we believe that there is no development without union, This is how Action promoting vulnerable people (APV) was created. MISSION AND VISION APV puts a refugee in the middle of all activity in order to create a favorable space for the development. We empower vulnerable with knowledge for capacity building and life skills so that they may contribute and be change makers for the development of our communities. The fact that they have been more affected by the conflicts which made them to be called refugees, APV is sensitizing refugees so that they are more concerned and be on the front line to make changes. Due to the knowledge and skills they would have acquired from the refugee camp, once repatriated, they are change makers and peace builders in their respective countries for the development. Mission The mission of the APV is to: •Advocate vulnerable’s rights and gender equality. •Provide educational and economic opportunities for all. •Support them in leadership and decision-making roles. •Promote health and well-being among their families. Vision The vision of the APV is to empower refugees and host communities to achieve sustainable development, equality, and social justice in their communities.
