Project: Education for Women and Girls: Gender Empowerment for Sustainable Development. *1. Project Name:* Education for Women and Girls: Gender Empowerment for Sustainable Development *2. Project Goal:* To enhance access to quality education, entrepreneurial skills, and human rights awareness for women and girls in Nyarugusu Refugee Camp and surrounding communities, empowering them to break free from poverty, contribute to the local economy, and fully participate in leadership and community development. *3. Specific Objectives:* - Provide training in entrepreneurship, vocational skills, and technology for women and girls to enable them to start their own businesses or secure employment. - Overcome gender barriers that limit women's and girls' access to quality education. - Raise awareness of women’s and girls’ rights, including the right to education, gender equality, and community safety. - Empower women and girls to take up leadership roles and contribute to decision-making processes in their communities. *4. Key Activities:* - *Entrepreneurship and Vocational Training:* Provide women and girls with entrepreneurial skills, including handicrafts (sewing, soap making, jewelry making), digital technology, and online business strategies. - *Human Rights Education:* Establish classes focused on human rights for women and girls, teaching them about their fundamental rights, including education, health, gender equality, and personal safety, and building their ability to advocate for themselves. - *Community Awareness Campaign:* Launch a community awareness campaign to change gender stereotypes and encourage parents, communities, and local leaders to support girls' education and access to equal opportunities. - *Leadership Training for Women and Girls:* Provide leadership training to women and girls, equipping them with the skills to participate in leadership roles and decision-making in their communities, ensuring gender equality in leadership positions. *5. Expected Outcomes:* - Women and girls will acquire entrepreneurial skills, enabling them to start businesses or secure jobs in various sectors. - A reduction in gender-based barriers and cultural norms that prevent women and girls from accessing quality education. - Women and girls will have a stronger voice in leadership and decision-making roles within their communities. - Communities will have a better understanding of women's and girls' rights, with systems in place to support their protection and development. *6. Project Stakeholders:* - *GRACE Organization:* Lead organization responsible for project management, needs assessment, and delivering training to women and girls. - *Tanzanian Government:* Support in the implementation of laws related to girls’ and women’s education and gender equality. - *International NGOs and Civil Society Organizations:* Provide financial, technical, and resource support for project implementation. - Parents and Local Communities:Collaborate to create supportive environments that empower girls to access education and equal opportunities. *7. Project Duration:* The project will be implemented over *two years*, with evaluations conducted every six months to assess progress and address challenges. *8. Project Budget:* - Entrepreneurship and Vocational Training: $20,000 - Human Rights Education and Awareness: *$10,000* - Leadership Development for Women and Girls: $8,000 - Community Awareness Campaigns: *$7,000* - *Total Budget:*$45,000 *9. Implementation Phases:* 1. *Months 1-2:* Set up entrepreneurship, vocational training, and human rights education programs. 2. Months 3-5:Begin leadership training for women and girls, and launch community awareness campaigns. 3. Months 6-12:Conduct an initial evaluation, continue training, support small businesses, and promote gender equality. 4. Months 13-24:Final evaluation, report achievements, and plan for project sustainability. *10. Monitoring and Evaluation:* We will implement a participatory monitoring system, involving all stakeholders to ensure the project’s success and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, regular progress reports will be shared with stakeholders, and data from evaluations will be used to refine project execution.
