One of our key projects at Jenga Matendo Project is the Women’s Creative Skills and Children’s Learning Initiative in Kakuma Refugee Camp. In this program, women (wa mama) are trained in cement art crafts, hand-sewn doll-making, and basic construction skills using local materials. The handmade dolls are used both as toys for children and as tools in our educational storytelling sessions, promoting creativity, teamwork, and peace. This project empowers women with income-generating skills while supporting children’s learning through art and play — strengthening family bonds and building resilience within the community.
