One of the projects we led focused on advocating for the registration of RLOs in Kakuma and Kalobeyei. This initiative aimed to formalize over 50 RLOs, ensuring they had the legal recognition to operate effectively. By organizing meetings with key stakeholders, including the Norwegian Refugee Council, the Refugee Consortium of Kenya, the UNHCR, and the Government of Kenya through the Department of Refugee Services and Social Development Office, we succeeded in securing official registration certificates for many RLOs by October 2023. This project has empowered RLOs to access better resources and establish stronger partnerships to support the community.
