Program Overview: KRLON’s Advocacy Program focuses on amplifying the voices of community-based organizations (CBOs) within Kyaka II Refugee Settlement and the host community. The program aims to advocate for policy changes and decisions that positively impact forcibly displaced populations. Objectives: Collective Voice for Policy Influence: KRLON serves as a unified platform to amplify the voices of CBOs, advocating for policy changes and influencing decisions that affect the lives of forcibly displaced populations in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement. Promote Participation and Decision-Making: The program advocates for the involvement of CBOs, Refugee-led Organizations (RLOs), Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and other affected communities in decision-making processes related to humanitarian responses and protection for forcibly displaced populations. Align with Global Commitments: KRLON aligns with commitments made by the United Nations, including UNHCR, NGOs, and civil society actors, emphasizing the importance of engaging directly with forcibly displaced persons and supporting their meaningful participation. Activities: Organizing advocacy campaigns to raise awareness about the needs and challenges faced by forcibly displaced populations. Engaging with policymakers and stakeholders to influence policy decisions in favor of displaced communities. Hosting forums and discussions to promote dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders. Monitoring and reporting on the implementation of policies affecting forcibly displaced populations. Outcomes: Increased awareness among policymakers and stakeholders about the needs of forcibly displaced populations. Policy changes and decisions that positively impact displaced communities. Strengthened partnerships and collaboration among CBOs, RLOs, IDPs, and other stakeholders. Enhanced representation and participation of displaced communities in decision-making processes.
