The Nakujali Foundation launched the Yoga for Resilience project, introducing yoga to schools in Nakivale Refugee Settlement for the first time. This initiative integrated trauma-sensitive yoga, breathing exercises, and mindfulness techniques into the school routine to support students’ mental and emotional well-being. Through guided sessions, children developed coping skills, improved focus, and built emotional resilience. Teachers were also trained to incorporate mindfulness into daily lessons. By creating a safe and supportive learning environment, Yoga for Resilience empowered students to manage stress, regulate emotions, and enhance their overall well-being, marking a significant step in holistic education for refugee children.
