Our mission is to serve and inspire broken communities by giving them guidance during the healing process so they can empower themselves for the future. We operate a Refugee Resource Center that serves as a second home for over 250+ refugees from DR Congo, South Sudan, and Burundi. The SEF Resource Center is one of the few outlets where refugees in Kampala can truly feel welcomed, cared for, and supported with tools and resources to help them integrate into the local communities and achieve a sense of meaningful self-worth, self-sustenance, and a sense of community. We unite urban refugees through avenues like Language Development Programs, Vocational Training, Community Development Programs, and Creative Arts to break obstacles for social inclusion and promote refugee self-reliance. The programs and activities model we run are tailored to promote refugee development, community building, and particularly strengthening the skills they need to not only survive in the face of trauma, stress, displacement, and deprivation but to become self-reliant and potential leaders in their communities. Our four main program avenues combine to create an engaging, efficient, and cost-effective intervention. NOTE: All of our SEF programs and activities are 100% free of charge.
