CHILD LEARNING CENTRE 4ALL

Early Childhood Development (ECD) ,LEGO Project

Objectives:
The Child Learning Centre 4All ECD project aims to foster holistic development in early childhood through structured play-based learning activities. Its primary objectives include promoting cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth in young children, preparing them for formal education and lifelong learning. The project seeks to create a nurturing environment where children can explore, discover, and learn through interactive play experiences.

Activities:

Structured Play Sessions: Engaging activities designed to stimulate cognitive development, such as puzzles, building blocks, and sensory play.
 Group games, role-playing, and collaborative activities to enhance social skills and cooperation.

Creative Expression: Artistic endeavors like painting, storytelling, and music to encourage imagination and self-expression.


Outdoor Play including running, jumping, and organized sports.

The Child Learning Centre 4All project aims to create a foundation for lifelong learning by prioritizing play as a fundamental aspect of early childhood education.

In our most recent ECD play learning project, we've achieved remarkable milestones in enhancing education and development for children from diverse backgrounds. 

The project includes the successful implementation of innovative play-based learning methodologies tailored to the need. Through interactive and engaging activities, children have shown significant progress in language acquisition, problem-solving skills, and socio-cultural understanding.By surpassing our targets and providing quality education to children from varied nationalities, our ECD play learning project stands as a beacon of inclusivity, empowerment, and educational excellence.

Stakeholders and beneficiaries involvement:
1. Activities especially teaching classes  commenced for the new year and the children have been turning up daily for studies

2. Sensitization of community members specifically refugee parents  through community leaders to enroll their children at Center.

3. Recruited qualified ECD  tutors for the centre

IMPACT
We had a total number of Participants: 100
Males: 45       Females: 59
Age Range: 2 to 6 years

 

Lessons Learned and Best Practices: 

The Importance of Play-Based Learning: The foremost lesson learned is the profound significance of play-based learning in early childhood development . Play serves as a powerful tool for  physical development in young children. It fostering creativity, problem-solving skills, and resilience.

Child-Centered Approach:as akey best practice ,we have  adopted a child-centered approach  Understanding ,the interests, abilities, and developmental stages of individual children ensureing they are engaging, meaningful, and developmentally appropriate.

Promoting Inclusive Practices: Lessons learned emphasize the importance of inclusivity in play-based ECD activities. Designing activities that accommodate diverse needs, abilities, and backgrounds of children ensures that all participants feel valued and included.

Encouraging Peer Collaboration: Best practices involved fostering peer collaboration and social interaction during play. Group activities such as ''circle time'' encourage communication & cooperation , facilitating the development of essential social skills and relationships among children.

Integration of Learning Objectives: Incorporating early literacy, numeracy, and other educational concepts into games promotes learning while maintaining the joy of play.

Creating Safe and Stimulating Environments: Lessons learned highlight the importance of creating safe, stimulating, and conducive environments for play. Providing appropriate materials, space for exploration, and supervision ensures that children can engage in play with confidence and enthusiasm.
