SHE-CAN Initiative was established in March 2022 as a non-profit Organization to empower women and girls in Kakuma camp. The organization is governed by 8 volunteers passionate about women's empowerment and girls' education. Life skills empower our target stakeholders to take positive action to protect themselves and promote health and positive social relationships. The organization’s programs encourage the participation of vulnerable girls and women by delivering formal and non-formal education. The initiative focuses on skills training for girls and women, including those with disabilities, in areas such as early/forced marriage, teenage pregnancy, sexual and reproductive health, and mental well-being. SHE-CAN Initiative has worked with over 1000 girls and women in Kakuma and Kalobeyei.
