Community Centre for Excellence is a community-based organization founded and led by young refugees. It was founded in 2019 and fully registered on 4th October 2023 as the Community Center for Excellence (CBO) by the Directorate of Social Development following the provision of the Community Groups Registration Act, NO.30 of 2022. It is located in the Kalobeyei settlement, which is part of the Turkana West sub-county in northwest Kenya. CCE is committed to providing quality education and empowering individuals, particularly those from marginalized communities. Our primary focus is on ensuring access to quality education for all, with a particular emphasis on refugees and host communities. We offer a variety of educational programs, including scholarships and flexible learning options through blended and online courses. By investing in education, we aim to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in life. In addition to education, CCE also prioritizes livelihoods and women's empowerment. We offer vocational training to equip young people with practical skills for employment, and we provide entrepreneurship support to help individuals start and grow their businesses. We also focus on developing life skills and employability skills to enhance individuals' career prospects. SLOGAN: Reach, Teach and Impact.
