About

Established in January 2023 by Khadiza Begum, Harmony Sisters Network is a beacon of hope based in Japan, directed towards creating an inclusive and harmonious world, particularly for Rohingya refugee women and those from minority backgrounds. This Japan-based non-profit organization was founded by a visionary leader, Khadiza Begum, herself a Rohingya refugee who spent her early life in Bangladesh. The Network's mission unfolds through six strategic pillars: Mental Health and Well-being for Women: Acknowledging the critical importance of mental health, the Network provides resources and support aimed at nurturing the emotional and psychological well-being of women. Education and Skill Development: The organization actively works to bridge gaps in education and skill development for children and women, providing them with the tools and knowledge needed to foster independence and progress. Leadership Skills and Opportunities: By cultivating leadership skills, Harmony Sisters Network encourages women to assume roles of influence, thereby driving positive change within their communities. Advocacy and Awareness: The organization stands as a staunch advocate for refugee women and minorities, striving to elevate their voices and issues to the forefront of social discourse. Networking: Harmony Sisters Network understands the power of connection and actively facilitates networking opportunities to build a robust support system for its cause. Resourcing: The organization’s sustainability hinges on effective resourcing, which it adeptly manages to ensure the continuity of its impactful programs. Khadiza Begum's leadership has been instrumental in the organization’s rapid growth and success. With just over a year since its inception, the Harmony Sisters Network has become a hub of empowerment, learning, and advocacy, setting a stellar example of how targeted support and compassionate leadership can uplift marginalized communities. It stands as a testament to the power of collective effort and empathy in forging paths towards equality and peace.
