About Helping Hand turkana Organization

helping hand turkan ato-CBO is an indigenous community bsed Non -Profit Organization which came of the concern about the plight of children,youth and womenHHTA 0kenya was spontaneously established on 15th september 2016 with 27 members of which 12 are female and 15 are male.All these youth came out under 1 umbrella with the common interest of supporting the children,youth and women at the community level and the sorrounding,sub0county who have been directly or indirectly affected by the porous border.The purpose for the establishment of this organization was to fight againist the rising child abuse,high rates of the school drop-out,especially among girl at primary level of education,limited access to sexual and reproductive health and rights to the adolescence,limited access to the orphans and vulnerable children in the community.

On 04th/06/2026-Un-conducive learning home environment :Resulting from the nomadic and thepastrolist mode of living was perceived by about 6.7 percent of the respondents to have direct negative impact on education.As pointed out earlier,movement is integral to pastoralist and is determined by the diminishing grazing pastures and water, when children migrate with their families,they miss out of school.As the families keep moving from place to place,they disrupt the academic progress of children who may be in school since parents can't leave their children behind.Besides,there are no mechanisms of absorbing the children into schools where they migrate to since there may be no schools on those new areas.Further,there is no particular pattern of movement by which intervention measures can be planned to accommodate migrating children e.g. putting up schools along the routes.Through Funding from PORTICUS,we will manage to support the ECD Centers that our Organization supports and provide
