About
Southern Africa Refugee Organisations Forum
We exist to ensure that RLOs across countries in Southern Africa region are supported, funded, trained and capacitated to conduct their work aimed at supporting their fellow refugee communities. Of the 16 countries in the region, we are currently present in 9 countries, where we are forming systems and structures to ensure that they are fully represented at decision-making tables. One of the key policy issues that we aim to address is the access to livelihood activities for refugees and asylum seekers in their host countries. By doing som, we contribute towards inclusion and refuge meaningful participation in their host. This way of working embrasses directly the localisation approach within the humanitarian space and specifically in the forcibly displaced context. Our headquarter is in South Africa, and we are a team of 21 leaders currently coordinating works in the region.
We are hoping to launch the organisation soon pending funding, and we will also soon start conducting capacity building workshop with all country representatives.
