Background Story matters Entertainment, is a registered Community Based Organization, created by young refugees in Kakuma refugee camp (Kenya). It seeks to help the community and change lives by empowering and showcasing youth’s talent in the society. It comprised of refugees’ youths who believe in creative, innovation and home-grown potential of youths in the refugee camp. And currently, the group has 15 members from Refugee Community and 3 members from host community. Our objective is to engage, educate, and promote youth's talents to become a sustainable source of livelihood. Recognizing the importance of empowering young people with skills and opportunities to create their own pathways to economic independence, this initiative aims to support youth in harnessing their talents and abilities to generate income and build sustainable livelihoods. Behind this initiative idea is a group of two young males who were later joined by young supportive youths from different nationalities in the camp. The initiative was formed in 2019 and officially launched in 2020.
