Inclusive learning for children with disabilities. This project was all about creating inclusive environment for children with disabilities in refugee settlements namely; Bidi Bidi refugee settlement, Imvepi refugee settlement, Rwamwanja refugee settlement and Kampala. The following activities were carried; assessment of children with disabilities in the following six conditions; Epilepsy, Down'syndrome, Microcephalus, Hydrocephaplus, Autism Spectrum disorder(ASD) and Cerebral palsy (CP). Provision of assistive devices like adapted chairs, wheel chairs, learning materials and therapeutic activities was carried out with a team of specialist including Occupational therapists (OT), Special needs teachers and Physiotherapist. School learning environment to identify learning needs for children with disabilities was done, School physical environment to identify physical barriers affecting the schools to facilitate inclusive learning for children with disabilities was done and School accessibility assessment. Further still teacher training, outreach worker training and care giver training were done to facilitate inclusive learning was done in most of the schools in the settlements in partnership with refugee led Organizations (RLOs).
