Environment Nature & Climate Change Action

GALDO CBO is committed in promoting environmental sustainability and climate change resilience at community level. GALDO has implemented practical, community driven interventions aimed at protecting the environment while improving socio-economic wellbeing. some of the climate change actions include; 1. solid waste management: these initiative include plastic waste collection and help the community earn money collecting of plastic wastes. under these we also train youths, women and pwds on animal waste products value addition, and its all about crafting and designing of animal bones, horns and hooves and transform into useable items such as key holders, pen holder and napkins. 2. Beekeeping: as GALDO we have refugees local expertise in apiary management and we design this activity to train youths out of school so that they understand the important of beekeeping and its benefits both for the community and environment. 3. smart farming /kitchen farming: we have small locally improvised green house in our centre where design to train women, youths and pwds particularly the pregnant mothers so that they understand the nutritional values. and several other activities.
