Since October 2023, with the support of several partners, we have helped displaced Sudanese health care workers provide life saving medical treatment to refugees living in the Adré refugee camp in Chad. While the clinic lacks essential resources, it is one of only three medical clinics in the Adré Camp, serving over 260,000 Sudanese refugees. Our medical clinic is the only one that provides free medical treatment and medicine. The other clinics require payment from forcibly displaced persons for any medical treatment and often struggle with language barriers. Because our clinic is run by people with the same language, history, and culture our team of volunteers is able to care for individuals with more accuracy, understanding, and compassion.
