Thirty years of war have affected more than 99% of the population in eastern DRC. Since 2014, MWT has been working to educate vulnerable children, orphans, and children separated from their families. We built a center for the supervision, transit, and orientation of children. This center operated for approximately five years, providing children with free education, food, shoes, medical care, and psychosocial support. We lost this center following the last volcanic eruption. Today, without this center, we have sent these children to other schools where we pay their school fees, uniforms, and school bags, and we also provide them with school canteens.
