2. Akili House Digital Learning Project

Project Name: Akili House

Objective:
Akili House aims to bridge the digital divide by providing access to digital tools, online learning, and ICT skills for community members with limited access to technology. The project supports learning, research, creativity, and innovation through a safe and inclusive digital space.

Key Activities:

  • Access to computers and digital learning resources

  • ICT training sessions covering basic computer skills and online research

  • Guided learning for students, job seekers, and self-learners

  • Digital literacy support for persons with disabilities

  • Use of the space for learning, innovation, and information sharing

Akili House functions as a shared community resource, supporting education, skills development, and access to information.



Project highlights, targets reached, lessons learned, and best practices (approx. 200 words)

Akili House served 120 users, including 59 women, 55 men, and 6 persons with disabilities. Participants improved their digital literacy, research skills, and confidence in using technology for education and employment.

Key highlights include:

  • Increased use of digital tools for learning and job applications

  • Inclusive access for persons with disabilities


Lessons learned:

  • Demand for digital access is higher than available resources
