About Rafiki youth for Future Innovations Initiative

Rafiki Youth for Future Innovation Initiative (RYFI) is a youth led, community based, non profit rooted in Rwamwanja Settlement, Kamwenge District, Uganda, and open to youth from both refugee and host communities. We help young people turn ideas into action that improves daily life. Our vision is a world where youth lead innovation, change and sustainable progress. Our mission is to equip youth with skills, resources and platforms to drive practical solutions in their communities. Our work covers skills training and livelihoods, youth entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, arts and sports for creative expression and leadership, advocacy and civic engagement on gender equality peace and rights, and community projects in agriculture, renewable energy and safe water. We deliver these through workshops, mentorship, small grants, community events and peer networks. Membership is open to committed youth 18 and above who are ready to contribute time, ideas and modest savings. Members guide priorities through the General Assembly and take on rotating leadership roles that build real governance experience. We work with local leaders, CBOs, national NGOs and agencies such as UNHCR to scale impact, share learning and link youth initiatives to wider support systems. Transparent management, community participation and accountability to our members anchor our work. RYFI exists to show that when youth are trusted with tools and a voice communities become more resilient, creative and hopeful.
